{"id":71,"date":"2026-03-26T18:15:56","date_gmt":"2026-03-26T18:15:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pricelessprecisionco.com\/?p=71"},"modified":"2026-03-30T15:35:41","modified_gmt":"2026-03-30T15:35:41","slug":"why-i-chose-the-glock-45-as-my-first-firearm-beginner-perspective","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pricelessprecisionco.com\/?p=71","title":{"rendered":"Why I Chose the Glock 45 as My First Firearm (Beginner Perspective)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>After a lot of research, going back and forth, and honestly not knowing what direction to go at first, I finally made my decision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I went with the Glock 45.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is the first real step in my journey, and I want to walk through exactly how I got here and why I chose what I did.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>Why I Started With a Pistol<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Before even getting into specific models, I had to decide what type of firearm made the most sense for me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I landed on a pistol for a few key reasons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>First, affordability. Compared to a lot of other options, pistols felt like a more accessible entry point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Second, practicality. It\u2019s easy to find ranges that allow you to shoot pistols, which makes getting reps in a lot more realistic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And third, versatility. A pistol can serve as a home defense option while also being something I could eventually carry in the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That combination made it feel like the right place to start.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>Why I Chose Glock<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once I decided on a pistol, the next step was figuring out which brand to go with.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I kept coming back to Glock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Everything I found pointed to the same things\u2014reliability, simplicity, and consistency. It seemed like one of the safest bets for someone just getting started.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On top of that, they\u2019re relatively affordable compared to other options, and there\u2019s a huge ecosystem around them for parts, upgrades, and maintenance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The simplicity of the platform was a big factor for me too. As someone new to this, I wanted something that would be easy to learn, easy to clean, and something I could grow into over time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>Glock 19 vs 43X vs 45<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After narrowing it down to Glock, I was deciding between three options:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Glock 19<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Glock 43X<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Glock 45<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>All of them are chambered in 9mm, which was another big plus\u2014ammo is widely available and relatively affordable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But reading about them only got me so far.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I needed to actually hold them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>Why I Chose the Glock 45<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Going into the store and physically handling each one made the decision clear pretty quickly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The biggest difference for me was the grip.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Glock 45 has a larger frame compared to the 19 and especially the 43X, and that mattered more than I expected. It just felt better in my hand\u2014more control, more stability, and more confidence holding it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 19 felt good, but slightly smaller than I preferred.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 43X felt noticeably slimmer, which I can see being great for concealed carry, but for me as a beginner, I wanted something I could really get a solid grip on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That\u2019s what pushed me toward the 45.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>What About Concealed Carry?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I did think about concealed carry when making this decision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That\u2019s actually where the 43X had an advantage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But being honest with myself, I\u2019m not there yet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is my first firearm, and I don\u2019t feel comfortable carrying until I\u2019ve spent real time training, understanding the weapon, and building confidence with it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Because of that, I didn\u2019t feel the need to prioritize size for concealment right now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I\u2019d rather start with something I can control well and learn on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>What\u2019s Next<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now comes the part that actually matters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s time to get to the range and start learning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I\u2019ll be putting time into understanding how the Glock 45 shoots, how it feels under real conditions, and what I need to improve on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I\u2019ll come back with honest feedback\u2014what I like, what I don\u2019t, and what I learn along the way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is where the journey really begins.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>After a lot of research, going back and forth, and honestly not knowing what direction to go at first, I finally made my decision.
